Glocal Big-screen Premiere
Glocal is a short film telling the story of an American family's move to Chorlton and their attempt to lead a more sustainable existence. Giving up a gas-guzzler for a bunch of bikes, swapping supermarkets for local shops and foregoing fast food in favour of homegrown produce, the Heies show how easy it is to break free from the consumption-obsessed lifestyle so common in the West.
Glocal challenges the viewer to be more aware of the impact of their daily routine on their health, the environment and even international relations. The film was made by Jeff Heie, one of the organisers of Chorlton's Big Green Festival.
The Big Green big-screen premiere of Glocal (running time: 30 min) will be at 7.30pm on Saturday 30 January at St Clement's Church and will be followed by a discussion. Admission is free. Popcorn and drinks will be available!
