Chorlton's Big Green Festival is a family orientated event and therefore most workshops are suitable for children. There is also a large children's play area situated within the primary school grounds next to St Clements Church.

CBGF 2011 saw the BBC's Mr Bloom demonstrating how young children could learn from the experience of nurturing plants and vegetables. Mr Bloom's Nursery was the first in-house production to be made in BBC North ahead of the whole Children's department moving to MediaCityUK in Salford throughout 2011.
