A new fringe event - Climate Change: Myths & Morals has been added to the Fringe section. Take a look here!
Thanks to everyone who has entered the Scarecrow Competition, part of the festival's Growing Locally theme. There have been some wonderful creations on display in shops, bars and businesses around Chorlton, and local schoolchildren and community groups have also been busy making scarecrows to protect their veggie patches and allotment plots. As well as a display of these fine fellows, there will be a glittering prize-giving ceremony with winners in two categories announced on the main stage at 3.15pm and trophies awarded!
Tickets for the foot-stomping ceilidh, featuring music by the Midge Bite Band, will be available on the door on Saturday evening. The fun and festivities get underway at 8pm and will run until 11pm - entry is just £5 or £3 concessions.
The Big Green Bike Parade will start from the church gates at noon - full details on the family-friendly cycle ride are on the Bicycles page. Remember to dress to impress - the theme is green!

The final Little Green fringe event before the festival starts at 8pm tomorrow (Sat 20 March) at Jam Street Cafe. This month, the musical talent includes Dr Butler's Hatstand Medicine Band, Pablo's Finest Hour, Katie Blundell and Dan Melrose. It's free, so drop in!
The next (and last!) organising meeting is this Thursday (the 18th) at the slightly later time of 8pm in St Clement's. Hopefully see you there!

Sunday's sign-making afternoon was really fab - lots of great signs were made for the festival and we had lots of fun. Thanks to everyone who came down and took part - see if you can spot us in this week's South Manchester Reporter!

Feeling crafty? Then join us for a fun afternoon of sign-making at St Clement's on Sunday 7 March from 1pm. We'll be using recycled and reclaimed materials to create colourful notices to use on the day of the festival, so bring all your bright ideas and anything you think would be useful!
As Chorlton's Big Green Festival draws closer, we're looking for volunteers to help the day run smoothly. There are plenty of areas in which to get involved so if you fancy being part of this exciting event, join us at our next planning meeting: Thursday 25 February, 7.30pm, St Clement's.
If you missed the big-screen premiere of Glocal a couple of weeks ago, there's another chance to see the short film on Tuesday 23 February at 7.30pm. It's being shown at Emmanuel Church Hall, next to Didsbury Library, on Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, M20 6TR. There will be wine, nibbles and lively conversation, and a donation of £2.50 is suggested to cover costs. Check out the Fringe Events section for more about the movie!
Jam Street Cafe and Chorlton's Big Green Festival present the second Little Green music evening from 8pm on Saturday 20 February. This free Fringe event will take place at Jam Street Cafe on Upper Chorlton Road and aims to showcase some of the artists who will be performing at the Big Green Festival on Saturday 27 March.
